Libano-Suisse sponsors Gibran National Dictation by the National Gibran Committee
As part of its ongoing commitment to culture and education, Libano-Suisse is proud to announce its partnership with the National Gibran Committee in support of the prestigious "Gibran National Dictation 2025" cultural event. Held at the iconic Lebanese National Library, this celebration of language and heritage took place under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Joseph Aoun, represented by Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh. Libano-Suisse was represented by Mrs. Nadine Mecattaf. The event also welcomed several other ministers including Joe Issa El Khoury (Industry), Youssef Rajji (Foreign Affairs), Laura Lahoud (Tourism), and Nora Bayrakdarian (Youth and Sports), alongside Mr. Fadi Rahmeh, President of the National Gibran Committee, committee members, and prominent figures from Lebanon's cultural, artistic, academic, and media fields.
This initiative aligns with Libano-Suisse’s mission to champion Arabic language and culture, while honoring the literary and philosophical legacy of Lebanese icons—chief among them the poet, writer, and thinker Gibran Khalil Gibran. Over the years, Libano-Suisse has supported several educational and cultural projects, including scholarships for top-performing university students and the sponsorship of the “KAREE WA MOUBDEH – Hassan Daoud Edition,” an award created to promote Arabic reading and writing.
This year’s dictation saw the participation of students from various schools, who competed in a spelling test inspired by the timeless words of Gibran. Students Miss Aya Moughrabel and Miss Farah Rammal took first and second place respectively, with Ms. Mecattaf presenting the awards to both winners. A special highlight of the event was the participation of attending dignitaries in the dictation itself—emphasizing the symbolic and cultural weight of the occasion.
The full event will be broadcast in a special episode on MTV Lebanon on May 30, 2025, at 3:15 PM, immediately after “Beirut Al Yawm,” highlighting the importance of preserving Arabic and celebrating Lebanon’s cultural legacy across both official and public spheres.
Through this meaningful collaboration, Libano-Suisse reaffirms its dedication to nurturing cultural engagement and empowering younger generations to embrace their language and identity; believing that investing in culture is, ultimately, investing in the nation’s future.
